VISITATION SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY of EDUCATION

“Lord”, said Thomas, “How can we know the way?”  Jesus told him: “I am the way and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.”

We at Visitation School aim to minister to the needs of each student.  These include the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical.  It is our intent that each student learn to live a happy and meaningful life here on earth, in preparation for union with God in Heaven.

In ministering to the student’s SPIRITUAL needs we will:

  • Provide them with knowledge and experience which will foster growth in the student’s personal relationship with each person in the Holy Trinity.
  • Foster commitment to God and His ways by providing teaching and guidance in the areas of Christian values and moral character as revealed to us by God’s word in Holy Scripture and the Teachings of the Church.

In ministering to the student’s INTELLECTUAL AND PHYSICAL needs we will:

  • Build a solid, well rounded foundation emphasizing the basic subjects of reading, language arts, math, science and social studies. We expand into such areas as art, music, cultural events and team sports.
  • Awaken academic curiosity and creativity.

In ministering to the student’s EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL needs we will:

  • Nurture in students an esteem for self, for each other, and for their school.
  • Foster in the student a love for learning.
  • Encourage respect, support and cooperation among school, family and parish members.
